Performance management is a crucial aspect of organizational functioning, irrespective ofwhether it is the public sector or private sector. This research project aims to provide acomprehensive comparative analysis of performance management systems in government andprivate organizations. The study seeks to identify the key similarities and differences in thedesign, implementation, and effectiveness of performance management systems in these twosectors. Enterprises in the public and private sectors are not the same when it comes to theiroperations and organizational structure. The current study compares the performancemanagement strategies used by firms in the public and private sectors. A total of 90 respondentswere chosen as the study’s sample after data from 45 employees in each of the public and privatesector divisions was gathered. Data was gathered using a well-crafted questionnaire with closedended questions. To determine whether or not there is a substantial difference in performancemanagement systems in the public and private sectors T-test has been used to testhypotheses. The study’s conclusions showed that there are notable variations in the performancemanagement strategies used by public.
